Turquoise: The Spa of the future
Soothing tranquility blended in the blues and greens of the sky and sea create the mood of the Turquoise Day Spa in Fairfield. From the wavy neon sign entrance to the lush and creamy textures found inside, the spa is a top-notch place to relax and be pampered.
My facial was expertly attended to by a gentle young women with soft brown eyes from Turkey called Aysegül. She told me the best reason to get a facial is to keep the skin clean and provide the nutrients for a healthy, glowing skin.
From the warm and sheeted table to the soothing creams lathered under her capable hands, I could feel time receding and hopefully any wrinkled facial skin as well.
The facial was unique in that it also includes a shoulder and foot massage as well as a little waxing for all the unwanted facial hair visible under the lights.
If time permits, or you mention it when making an appointment, there is also a complimentary make up session (a life saver if you are going back to work as I was) using the spa exclusive Jane Iredale micronized mineral make-up products, touted as being good for your skin.
The spa is the brainchild of Drs. Richard Levine and Lawrence Fliegelman, who both specialize in Otolaryngology (plastic as well as ear, nose, throat, head and neck surgery). With their professional medical background the spa also offers cosmetic procedures and consultations for Botox and non-invasive facial treatments right on the premises.
The doctors perform the clinical procedures and are always in the spa when any laser procedure is taking place; their professional offices are conveniently located in the office building adjacent to the spa.
Spa manager Sue Delco explained, "We have a dedicated and professional staff who are trained in all services we offer. The average facial is for 1 hour and 15 minutes, which provides a relaxing experience for our clients. We also encourage clients to stay with us and relax after their facial. Our lounge is intimate and comfortable, adjacent to a soothing wall of water and tasty refreshments are close at hand."
My face was aglow with happiness from all that pampering as I floated back onto the Post Road.
Gift certificates are available and can be used for any service.
